Event Details

If you were asked right now to share who you are, it could be guaranteed that the first thing that you would mention would be your family roles, your job title and maybe even where you are from. It’s normal because its how we have been conditioned but who are you really? What are your dreams, your desires, your true identity…what is your MAGIC?! Why did you stop being you? Did you ever start? We have been conditioned to fit into boxes, assigned roles and to fit into the comforts of everyone around us! In this gathering, we will abandon and reject who and what we have been told that we are and should be! We will dialogue about the barriers, stagnation, and death that inauthenticity creates. We will begin to explore, discover and embrace our authentic self! Get excited and incredibly curious about the wonders that are inside of you and all that you have to enrich your own world and the world outside of you. allow this gathering to help to pull you out of hiding, into self-awareness, self-acceptance, and SELF-CELEBRATION! Let’s start a fire! This workshop is free. Just come ready to invest in yourself.

Who is Choey? Let’s just say if Gandhi and Betsy Johnson had a love child, that would be me. If I had to give myself a label…I just wouldn’t. Dreamer, Fighter, Mom, Therapist, Advocate, Fashionista, Flower Child, Herbal Enthusiast…and the list goes on. It’s all me! My journey growing up in Winston-Salem was like the rose that grew from the concrete. It made me want to help others heal, grow and flourish. For 9 years I have been a mental health practitioner. Since 2012 I have practiced as a licensed professional counselor and until 2016 I practiced as a clinical addictions specialist and a rehabilitation counselor. So, I’ve pretty much had experience in all areas of mental health, which led me to where I am now. During my time in the public sector of mental health, I observed that the majority of people’s outcomes were comfort but not cures. As I studied, I began to implement holistic mental wellness interventions into my own life. As a result, I came to believe that symptom elimination, not just symptom management was possible in most cases. I attempted to implement it in treatment for clients and was quickly halted. From my frustration with this was the birth of my private practice, The Well Mind PLLC. Through this practice, I offer integrated holistic mental wellness treatment. While I implement traditional evidence-based practices, I also integrate alternative interventions into treatment. From herbalism for mental wellness to sound therapy, it’s a part of our offerings. My educational background includes an MS in Mental Health Counseling and a BA in psychology from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Outside of my professional work, I have always had a heart for empowering women specifically. I have always fought for us to live our best life. Even in my personal life experiences, I moved towards my own victories with the women that I would serve in mind. I believe that all women have this innate power to transform a piece of the world. So, here I am ready to serve, ushering people into self-love, purpose and into their own magic.
