In this introductory class, you’ll learn about the basics of memoir and come away with tools to help you get started writing your own. Topics: What memoir is (and isn’t), themes, turning points, scaffolding, and more. For those already working on a memoir or those just thinking about writing one.

Note: An advanced memoir workshop (Part II) will be offered this fall for those interested in digging deeper into the craft. Topics: narrative arc, character, scene, dialogue, as well as reflection and takeaway. Date TBD.

Laura draws from her experience as an advertising copywriter, newspaper columnist, communications director for several nonprofits, staff writer for an international relief organization, travel writer, blogger, and personal assistant to a New York Times bestselling author.
