Event Details

Explore the ritual and beliefs of ancient and modern nature religions.  Enjoy a shamanic journey, delve into the cycle of the seasons and their connection with our everyday lives and learn about how to bring ritual and sacred space into your home.
Paganism, witchcraft, and shamanism remain wildly misunderstood and feared. However, before we were setting these people on fire they were revered healers, midwives, counselors and chefs.

They understood the seasons and the moon phases and helped to write the Farmers Almanac.
When you live in harmony with the natural phases and energies of earth, you reap the rewards of a balanced and harmonized life.  Through maturity, we can begin to understand that Paganism, Witchcraft, and Shamanism are misrepresented in Hollywood, misused by angst-ridden, rebellious teenagers and twisted by religious and political leaders. It is the most simple and basic outer reflection of inner transformations that we all make as we travel through life and bestows the ritual and ceremony we are looking for to ground and center our daily lives.
FAQs

Who is the teacher and what is her background?
Sarah Thompson began studying alternative religions at an early age.  She is a yoga teacher, life coach and hypnotherapist, ordained interfaith minister and a student of ancient civilizations and comparative religion.  She believes there are threads of truth in every religion and finds great joy in learning and integrating these practices in her life.
Will we be casting spells in class?
Only if you want to, and then exclusively death curses.
J/k Spell work is an outer representation of an inner goal. If the universe was a restaurant a spell would be a way of ordering dinner.  Good Luck Charm = Dear Universe please send nice things.  We will be talking about spell work on a philosophical level, not practicing.
Is this an attempt to convert me to paganism?
No. It is an attempt to educate you. While I do love a good old fashioned ‘Altar Call’, there will not be a ‘meet me at the cross’ portion to the workshop.
What will we be learning?

This will be a survey course introducing ancient Greek/Roman/Egyptian paganism, Celtic and Native American Shamanism and Modern Wiccan/witchcraft practices.
