Taught by Sylvan Taylor
Sylvan Taylor is a teacher, mom, and lifelong learner. She currently teaches the Academically Gifted and Schoolwide Enrichment classes at The Downtown School. This is her 15th year in education – over the years, she has also taught 2nd, 4th and 5th grades, run a small in-home play-based preschool, and taught at the university level with aspiring young educators. Sylvan’s passions and areas of expertise are inquiry- and exploration-based learning and the power of play. She leads workshops on these topics here in Winston-Salem, as well as at conferences around the nation. Sylvan has two children of her own, both of whom attend The Downtown School, and she can be found learning and exploring alongside them whenever she has the chance.
