Event Details

From the facilitator, Charlene Hunt: Many people’s perceptions of American Indian history and contemporary culture are shaped by media portrayals, and too often those portrayals are created by individuals who do not understand our tribal communities. Unless we play an active role in how we are depicted, we risk letting others tell their version of our story. Being able to tell my own personal story has never been more important!

My hope is that in telling my story you will leave with more knowledge about American Indians and that I might also ignite a spark within; so you too can begin the process of finding your voice, telling your own story and healing as the words flow to paper. We all have stories to share that educate, empower and connect us to realize that “we are more alike than we are different.”
